TicketSource adopting CAP Code best practices

There are big changes to the ticketing industry on the way, related to how booking fees are calculated and displayed.


This has been a hot topic for some time now, and in a bid to increase transparency and fairness for the customer, the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) have issued a Code of Conduct stipulating best practice for those marketing and selling tickets to all types of event.


Best practice on advertised ticket prices as outlined by the CAP code stipulate that booking fees should be fully itemised at the point of ticket selection. So that is what we will be doing, as of Monday 5th August.


This does mean that TicketSource booking fees will now be calculated on each selection of tickets added to the shopping basket as opposed to the total value of the shopping basket. This change will only affect those Event Organisers selling tickets for multiple events, whose customers use our shopping basket facility.


CAP have deemed that this offers greatest transparency and certainty of cost at the time a customer is deciding whether or not to purchase.
