Adding your First Event

Top Tips on creating your First Event

Create and Add your first event

We're here to help you add your first event on TicketSource, no matter how big!

Whether you're organising a festival, opening an online Box Office or creating online payments for your Classes – it all starts by creating your first event.

Here's what you'll learn in this article:

What to do Before you Create your First Event

First things first, we would suggest mapping out your event on paper or using a spreadsheet. Plan how many days your event will be running, what time the event is, and how much you'll be charging for prices.

When you sign in for the first time, we'll give you a tour of the system and introduce you to the TicketSource Dashboard. From there, you'll have access to all the features, settings and reports needed to manage your events.

Next, is your event using a seating plan? If it is, you'll need to create one first! Go Here to learn how to create a seating plan.

Finally, if your event has got any marketing material or posters already made, make sure you have a version of them as a JPEG, PNG or GIF, which is less than 500kb in size and no more than 200 pixels in scale.

How to get to the Event Designer

Click Events in the menu bar, and select New Event. Once you've done that, you'll find yourself in the Event Designer. This area is where you can let your imagination take over and create the event of your dreams.

The Event Designer is formed of a table with six areas to edit:

Tips and Tricks

  1. Did you know you can create a test event before you set up your first real event? To do so, create an event with the word TEST in the title. You'll be able to test all the functionality for selling your tickets including your in-house box office, and see what your events will look like before they go live!
  2. Once your event is live, you'll be able to publicise your event by sharing the unique URL assigned to your event. Learn more here!
  3. If you are setting up a series of events with the same outline, you can use our Copy Event function to save time! Simply go to Event and select Copy Event, and follow the on-screen instructions.

There you go! You should have everything you need to create your very first event. If you wanted to learn more about creating and managing your events, then have a look through the links below!
