Would you like to learn more about seaweed? Then come along to our free workshop run by our volunteer Martina Caplice and get some hands on experience identifying a selection of Ireland's 600+ seaweed species.
This will be a practical based workshop (in the Interpretive center) where you will get hands on experience of identifying different seaweed species.
There will be an introductory talk where you will learn how to use a scientific identification key and learn the main features of seaweeds, develop your observation skills, learn the difference between the reds, greens, and browns seaweeds as well as where to find them and the various uses of seaweed, from food to health to gardening!
Booking is essential (See ticket link)
Open to all ages. Taking place in the interpretive centre just off the roundabout at the end of the causeway road, North Bull Island.
Bring a notebook and some pens and pencils for note taking and drawing. And a bag if you would like to take away some seaweed samples!
Tea, coffee, and seaweed treats will be available on the day
Looking forward to seeing you all!
